How to get a Refund

1. Email Digital Dream Labs Support

Use the email associated with your order:

support@digitaldreamlabs.com

Remember: You are asking for a refund professionally, but not really expecting one. You are building a paper trail so it is extremely clear that you are asking for an email.

2. Contact Your Bank

Contact your bank and ask if your bank can do a chargeback. Ask for advice from your bank on any other form to do recoup your money.

Because of the amount of time that lapsed since the Butter Robot reservation, you will be unlikely to get your money back (yet).

Again, this is not about expecting a result on this step, it is about building the paper trail and being informed.

3. Contact the Pennsylvania Attorney General

Go to the website of the Pennsylvania Attorney General and submit a consumer complaint:

https://www.attorneygeneral.gov/submit-a-complaint/consumer-complaint/

Go to the “my emails and communication” page to see an example (bottom of the page)

Make sure you attach all of your emails and receipts. Wait 2 weeks before following up. In my experience, the Attorney General’s office will successfully contact DDL. DDL will tell the attorney general that they are trying to give you a refund and tried contacting you. Of course, if you ask for proof, it does not exist. Continue to follow up with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

At this point, you will find a new email address for DDL: digitaldreamlabs3@bill.com

4. Report Fraud to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

At this point, you have enough to go ahead and submit a complaint with the FTC

https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/

Much like the PA Attorney General, you are reporting “fraud, scam, or bad business practice.” Once again, when you are contacted by the FTC, provide all of the documentation above.

5. Make a Website

At this point, you find it hard to believe that you still don’t have your money back, so you make a website.

As soon as I have a new step or receive a refund, I will post it here. It is important to be methodical and continue to document everything you have done. Even if you don’t receive a refund yet, enough reporting to the PA Attorney General and the FTC will establish a pattern of misconduct with the company

6. Legal Options

Unless you decided to opt out of arbitration 3 years ago, like some kind of serial killer, you are not able to sue or go for small claims court.

To top it all off, the cost of submitting to arbitration is just as much as the Butter Robot reservation.

Still, with the steps above it should be a “slam dunk” – stay posted. If I get to the arbitration stage, you can expect a step by step guide added to this website.
